Applications of FRP Lining
Composite materials made from thermosetting resins—which offer excellent resistance to acids and alkalis—combined with reinforcing materials such as glass fiber that provide superior mechanical properties are structural materials entirely distinct from conventional synthetic resin products.
FRP is used for applications such as bathtubs, water tanks, and septic tanks—traditional residential fixtures—as well as architectural materials like flat and corrugated panels. Today, due to its excellent corrosion resistance, chemical resistance, and mechanical strength relative to its light weight, it is widely used in the chemical industry, construction equipment, and shipbuilding.
Features of FRP Lining
It is lighter than steel (1/4 the weight) and has excellent mechanical strength.
It offers excellent corrosion resistance, as well as resistance to acids, water, alkalis, chemicals, weathering, and heat. (Heat resistance: 40°C to 170°C)
It provides good thermal and electrical insulation. (Thermal conductivity: 1/180 that of steel)
It does not leach ions (ION), is easy to install, and is simple to work with.
It has strong adhesion and bonds well with materials such as cement, wood, and steel.
